Capt Jacob Herbig currently serves as the Operations Flight Commander at Air Force Reserve Officer Training Corps Detachment 425, Mississippi State University, Starkville, Mississippi. He is responsible for the training and assessment of the Air Force Reserve Officer Training Corps cadets and supervises the planning of all professional military training events.
Captain Herbig entered the Air Force in June 2019 after commissioning through Air Force ROTC Detachment 820 at Texas Tech University where he earned a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science. He has been active duty since commissioning for seven years and held a variety of leadership positions related to logistics management. Prior to his current position, Capt Herbig was Logistics Lead for the Dyess Air Force Base B-21 Program Integration Office under Air Force Global Strike Command’s Directorate for Strategic Plans, Programs, and Requirements (A5/8), overseeing the design and implementation of base infrastructure support for the bed down of the first sixth generation aircraft.
