Proximity to Columbus AFB
Cadets visit Columbus AFB every year to view static displays, meet with officers, and to be exposed to Air Force life. Cadets have also received hands-on opportunities with the flying squadron simulators, aerospace physiology demonstrations, internships, exclusive static displays, and flight demonstrations.

Built in 1910, Middleton Hall served as the MSU Dairy Department for 30 years before the Famous Maroon Band took residence. Air Force ROTC moved into the second floor in 1954 and has occupied it since. As one of the oldest buildings on campus, Middleton Hall is designated as a Mississippi Landmark Building and received a $3.1 million renovation in 2011.
